Of Interest to Members

Also for non-members

Something new this week end. Bring a board game, a deck of cards, a computer game to the Ager Museum this Saturday (Jan 6 2018 from 1 - 3). This is an opportunity to meet other members (bring nonmembers too) and have a short break from the really cold weather. We will have a second Game Day on Saturday, March 3.

Also consider coming to the house on Monday Jan 8 from 11:30 - 12:30. Bring your own lunch, a $5 donation, and your willingness to try to figure out what is going on in a Norwegian TV show that Mari Carlson will show us. Time for vocabulary building—in Norwegian!

Looking a little further ahead, the Program Committee urges you to start reading Fredrick Backman’s Bear Town. Backman, author of A Man Called Ove, sets Bear Town in a small Swedish town obsessed with hockey. Come to a discussion of the book on Monday evening, In late March we will co-host a talk by Professor Susan Brantly in preparation for our coach trip to the Guthrie on May 23. Her talk is entitled “Henrik Ibsen’s Enduring Art: The Enemy of the People Is Still with Us.”
